Growth on Mothers Day Weekend at Quincy

The 6c Cowman racing team gained a lot of ground this past Mothers day weekend. Racing at two different tracks proved to be a key in not only the car set up but the driver's evolution. "I was able to set the car in the corners at Quincy for the first time this year. We were able to run with the pack and finish in the top ten. Randy gave me a great car this evening. I can't wait to get back to Donnelson," said driver Bob Cowman.

Friday night the team was at Lee County Speedway. The night ended with a lecture from the crew chief about going low on a dry slick track. It was a learning evening as the track conditions were difficult and the car had a severe push in the center of the corners. Finishing the night in the 15th spot, the crew came back to Quincy to work to set the car up for a Sunday evening at Quincy Raceway. Changing several things with the set up proved to help the car turn.

Racing at the "Bull Ring" was a great opportunity to work at cornering the car. "I was able to run the bottom fairly well." We were able to race from the 12th position all the way up to 7th but after several cautions moved back to a solid 10th place finish. Quincy had a large car count of 19 cars. The field was
strong with drivers like Tony Dunker, Joe Blevin and Jim Gillenwater yet we were able to run with the the best of them.

The team also picked up a new home for the car this past week, making the evenings not only more comfortable but efficient. We have provided a picture to get a look inside.
