Season Opener

April 20th, 2018 marked the beginning of a new season for the newly numbered (14) Cowman Racing team. We start the year with a different car, a new number and a new color scheme. The evening was about working out the bugs and shaking off parts failure.

We rolled off in the feature in the 14th position. It was not what we wanted but with brake issues in the heat race, we did not move from our 7th place start. Little did we know that brake issues woould go from bad to worse in the feature.

On the fifth lap of the feature, we lost both rotors. This made the night a bit of a challenge but good in the sense that we gain valuable experience racing without the help of rear brakes. Randy Uppinghouse has been around racing for over forty years and has never seen that happen.... losing two rotors in one race.
The track was rough and choppy from the recent weather. This made for alot of cautions and tore up race cars. We were able to navigate many of the incidents and accidents to pull off a seventh place finish.

We will be back in action this coming Friday evening at Lee County Speedway. Thanks to Randy Uppinghouse who keeps everything together and moving forward. Also, we cannot thank our sponsors for all they do. Support racing by supporting these fine sponsors.
