They come runnin’ just as fast as they can
‘Cause every girl crazy
’bout a sharp dressed man.
A pair of first-time
award winners top this year’s sport mod picks for the ZZ Top Sharp Dressed Man
and Most Improved Look choices.
Taylor Lear’s
great-looking 626 car earns the ZZ Top nod while Bob Cowman’s clean-looking No.
6 receives the Most Improved Look award.

Lear’s accent on pink
worked with the black background. Cowman’s car comes from the opposite
approach, opting for well-manicured simplicity over flash-and-dash. While
Lear’s ride has a more modernistic feel, Cowman resembles NASCAR of the early
to mid-1990s.

Even though the sport
mods have only been around a few years, the class has produced some of the
best-looking cars of any series at the track. For example, Joe Bliven’s 2013
winning ZZ Top car ranks among the unofficial all-time top 10, joining such
famous looks as Jamie Wilson’s famous 2002 black, green and silver entry in the
late models and the 2000 blue late model of Mark Burgtorf.
