Tuesday evening was the beginning of the 2013 racing season for the 6c at Quincy Raceways. The night was a special event for the UMP Summer National Hell Tour. This event featured some of the most decorated Late Model and Modified drivers in the country.
Our goal was simply to finish the feature, shake the car down, and get some seat time. The night ended up being much more than a simple shake-down. Randy did a great job prepping the car. We were close on the set up coming off the trailer.
I knocked some of the rust off (first time in 10 months) during the heat race. I found the car to be a bit loose, but as the track came in late I was just about right. Sport Mods were first for heat races but the last feature of the night. It was great to be in the car again and my passion for it came back as soon as I put the helmet on.

The feature had twelve cautions, several pile ups, and only 8 of 19 ended up finishing the race. I did what I was told and displayed a lot of patience throughout the race. The car came in nice during the feature and this driver was able to successfully adjust to the changing track throughout the race.
We ended up taking eighth place which is a really solid finish for an event like this. I also received a Lead lap bonus and won Hard Charger, since I came from the back to finish 8th. My favorite part of the night was being with friends and off the grid!
